Hebrews 4:15-16

Sunset

Each Saturday at The Working Catholic Mom, I will post a piece of Scripture or something from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. These posts are meant for your pondering. They are meant for mine, too, and I promise to ponder them throughout the week. My prayer is that these posts bring us closer to the heart of Jesus throughout the week! Enjoy!

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace for timely help.

This passage from Hebrews 4:15-16 is part of the first reading today, January 19, 2013.

Questions for pondering:

1. What do I need to approach Christ about today in prayer?
2. Before Lent, how can I allow any suffering I’ve experienced to become redemptive?
3. What is timely help for me right now? What do I need in my life at this moment from the King of Kings? How can I bring that to Him in prayer?
